Can you believe it’s been a year since I launched Blonde and Bailey? I still remember sitting on my couch being so nervous to share my blog with the world, unsure of how my friends and family would react. While I’m a very talkative person, I’m not so good at being vulnerable and starting a blog definitely consists of sharing parts of my life in a new way. I love sharing my love for fashion and writing through this outlet, though, and I’m super glad I made myself do it. I hope y’all enjoy it, too. I try to be as raw as possible, sharing my outfits and life stories along with them. If there are other topics or ideas you’d love for me to talk about, please let me know.
Anyway, I wore this outfit last weekend for some shopping downtown. As I talked about earlier this week, I’ve been opting for some of my lighter jackets during this winter-to-spring transition. Well, let’s be real.. I wear leather jackets pretty much year-round. I was definitely colder this day so decided to go with a thick plaid shirt. Whenever I wear plaid I say it’s an OOTD inspired by my grandpa. He rocks plaid shirts better than anybody I know, and I always want to raid his collection. (P.S. Grandpa, don’t call me asking for commission for this post because I made $0 for it).
I know this style is definitely more grunge and masculine, but you can certainly swap out the combat boots and leather jacket for booties and a different jacket to tone it down. I styled this flannel in the fall this way when I was in Traverse City! For me, I like to mix my style with wearing bows and dresses some days and then mixing in more bad ass days when you need them.
Before I sign off for the day, I want to say THANK YOU. Thank you to everybody who has read my posts, followed me on social media, shared my blog and sent me messages about posts. I’m not kidding when I say it truly makes my day when I hear from y’all. I never imagined the support I’ve received, and I can’t say enough how much it means to me. <3 xx
