It’s been a bit. I know, I know. But here I am. Heyyyyy! I’m sitting outside in 88 degree weather (shout out to Real Good Juice Co. for a. Having good smoothies and b. Giving Em and I free smoothies. If you live in Chi and haven’t been yet, GO! My fav is the Sweet Dreams of Falkor. Basil + strawberry goodness, trust me. I tried to recreate it at my apartment but I haven’t quite perfected it.)
I spent Memorial Day weekend in Grand Rapids visiting my girl Bri. She moved there in March for a new job, and I hadn’t had a chance to go visit her so it was perfect timing for a girls weekend. She has the most adorable studio apartment. You saw it on my Insta story if you follow me on Instagram! I definitely ask her for approval before buying anything for my apartment since she’s way better with colors than I am. She helped me pick out some removable wallpaper for my studio that I just bought and can’t wait to put it. Did you know removable wallpaper is expensive AF? I had no idea.. Anyway, Bri’s place is apartment goals.
Whenever Bri and I are together we try to accomplish as many things as possible into one weekend. We’re both super energetic and outgoing, so we try to plan everything out ahead of time to make sure we don’t miss a thing. This weekend was just that. We wandered around Grand Rapids, met up with Andrea of Blonde Bedhead (who is one of my favorite people ever), went to the beach in Grand Haven, had dinner at Bri’s parents’ house, hit up several breweries and even did some pool crashing at a college apartment complex in East Lansing. Aka all the sunburn, drinks, food, coffee and Bri’s awful car music.
It was SUPER hot in Michigan this weekend, which meant I had to wear as little as possible. I saw this sleeveless denim top at J.Crew Factory recently and knew it was going to become a staple in my wardrobe. It’s something that can be styled with shorts, pants, skirts, whatever! It can definitely be dressed up for a work outfit, too.
These Vionic shoes were great for walking around Grand Rapids. This style is the Ainsleigh Wedge Sandal in black, and I’m in love. I kept telling Bri over and over again how comfortable they were. I had on a pair of flat sandals the day before and they started to hurt my feet. I couldn’t believe these wedges were more comfortable than a pair of sandals, but trust me. The everyday look for them makes it easy to style with shorts like I did or a summer dress — super versatile. They run TTS, too.
Talk soon, xx.
P.S. Yes, we went to Madcap several times this weekend. So good!
*These shoes were gifted to me but as always I’m super transparent with everything I share with y’all. I wouldn’t post about them if I didn’t truly love them!
