Spring Layers

Hi friends! Happy Spring! How’s it going? This past month has been flying by. I’ve had lots of fun weekends of visitors and some work travel, so I’ve been all over the place TBH. I was so excited to be able to go to the gym right after work then have a relaxing night in, so here I am. πŸ™‚

While we’ve been crossing our fingers for warm weather in Chicago, Mother Nature isn’t ready to give in just yet. Luckily we’ve had a *few* warmer days, and this outfit was definitely from one of those.

I’m all about layers in the spring, mainly because I’m cold a lot. When the sun’s out, it feels great but a little breeze and BAM, cold. Layering helps make an outfit fun though, too, I think. I stopped by Old Navy before this weekend, and got a bunch of cute pieces. I’m telling y’all, if you haven’t gone to Old Navy in a while, do it. Such affordable and great things, like this dress I’m obsessed with!Β That’s where I got this sweater and skirt! I love styling a longer cardigan with dresses and skirts like this.

I’ve wanted a skirt like this for a while, but I haven’t been able to find one that fit me well. Note, I did size up in this but probably could have gone with my normal size at Old Navy. I wanted to be able to tuck spring sweaters in it, though, so felt going up would make it more comfortable for that.

This outfit was perfect for a day (to night!) outside with Alec’s family, Bri and Sean. Besides having ranch explode in my purse (because you always need ranch packets in case of an emergency right?) and accidentally playing my TouchTunes at the bar we weren’t at on Division, it was such a fun day. We grabbed drinks on a patio then got burgers from Small Cheval in Old Town. If you haven’t been, it’s super good and way easier and quicker than Au Cheval (also worth going to though).

Also, yes, I cut my hair! Well, Chelsey did at Base Salon. I told her to cut it as short as she needed for it to be healthy — yep, I trust her that much — and love how much more volume it gave me. I’m due for highlights this week and definitely going very blonde for summer. Alec asked if I’m trying to be like Khaleesi… I braided my hair into a half pony once and now he thinks she’s my style inspo apparently. LOL

Bye for now!
