What’s better than gingham in the summer? There’s something about it that just makes it so fun this time of year. When I spotted this dress I knew it could be a great summer staple, especially since it’s long enough that I can wear it to work. (On a side note, does anybody else do the fingertip test still as an adult to see if a dress is long enough? Oh, so many years of a Catholic school uniform.) I’m glad I threw it into my suitcase during my typical last-minute packing for a trip to Michigan this past weekend.
Bri and I did some typical wandering around Grand Rapids after getting iced lattes at Madcap and stopping at the farmers market. Thankfully we were in a bar for a late lunch when mother nature decided it was time for some rain. We went to Jolly Pumpkin, and the food and drinks were amazing. I’ve never had a sour beer before (somehow?), and while my first sip was gross I decided I really liked it after the third. We decided to venture to an outdoor patio after it cleared up, and of course it started pouring on us until we made our way under a big umbrella.
One of my favorite things about this dress are the bows on the sleeves. Note to self: Tie the bows before putting the dress on because I 100% looked like an idiot trying to fix them while wearing the dress. The struggle was real.
I decided it was time for a new work bag when I got a new job. I had been eyeing up this Tory Burch black tote at Nordstrom and couldn’t stop crushing on it. It has a zipper in the middle that fits a laptop and a bunch of compartments inside to keep it organized. I’m queen of just throwing things into a tote, adding up until it becomes a hot mess. I’m hoping the different pockets inspire me to stay on top of my shit, but no promises.
xx, Hannah
